I am a values oriented professional and practitioner who is enriched by, and in continuous pursuit of learning from life and others. I work with Mind Matters Consulting and Primary Mental Health Care; a small practice based in the sutherland shire of Sydney Australia that also offers its services nationwide. I am a qualified and credentialed mental health nurse (ACMHN) and registered nurse (AHPRA) with over 20 years of clinical experience in mental health. I also possess clinical experience in medical, surgical, cardiac and aged care nursing, and older people's mental health. I have worked in the hospital (inpatient, outpatient and emergency), community and primary health care setting; and across the private, government and non-government sector in Sydney, Australia. I possess a well-founded working knowledge and understanding of the New South Wales health care system, and hold extensive experience in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and government and non-government agencies to advocate for, and deliver responsive mental health care to patients. For over 11 years, I also worked as a University Lecturer and Undergraduate Course Coordinator; developing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating Nursing and Mental Health Courses in Sydney, Australia. My contribution to Higher Nursing Education was recognised with a Vice Chancellor’s Award for Initiatives that Enhance Student Learning (sub-category: Innovation in curricula, resources and approaches to student learning). I am an experienced professional mentor, coach, and clinical (and non-clinical) supervisor to current and future professionals working in, or aspiring to pursue a vocation and career in nursing, mental health, and the psychosocial disability services.
