I am a qualified registered nurse (AHPRA) and credentialed mental health nurse (ACMHN) with over 20 years of clinical experience in mental health. I possess clinical experience in medical, surgical, cardiac and aged care nursing, and older people's mental health. I have worked in the hospital (inpatient, outpatient and emergency), community and primary health care setting; and across the private, government and non-government sector in Sydney, Australia. For over 11 years, I worked as a University Lecturer and an undergraduate Course Coordinator; developing, implementing and coordinating Nursing and Mental Health Courses in Sydney, Australia. My contribution to higher nursing education was recognised with a Vice Chancellor’s Award for Initiatives that Enhance Student Learning (sub-category: Innovation in curricula, resources and approaches to student learning). I am an experienced mentor, coach and clinical supervisor for professionals working in nursing, mental health, and in the psychosocial support and disability services. I am steadfast in contributing to the nursing and mental health profession through practice development, guest lecturing, and as an invited speaker. Some of my educational background includes a Master of Philosophy from the School of Medicine The University of Sydney; and a Master of Mental Health Nursing (Advanced Clinical Practice), a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing (Psychotherapeutic Interventions with Supervised Clinical Practice), and a Bachelor of Nursing from The University of Sydney.
